Persistent Organic Pollutants(POPs) Monitoring

What are POPs?

According to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, POPs are chemicals of global concern due to their resist degradation, toxic properties, bioaccumulate and long-range transport. The adverse effect of POPs threat on human and environmental health, such as Dioxins.

Related laws and regulations

POPs Control Act Article 11 (Monitoring Network Installation and Operation) and Article 4 (Monitoring Network Installation Plan) POPs Control Act Article 31 (Delegation and Entrustment of Authority) and Article 26 (Entrustment)

Business field

It is used to establish the policy of POPs management and to prepare the National Implementation Plan of the Stockholm Convention by monitoring of POPs distribution and trend over the environmental media (air, soil, water, sediments).
